If you follow my blogs, you will know by now that when I do wedding photography, I’m always looking for ways to use the surroundings to take some creatively beautiful shots of the couple on their special day. Of course, the traditional shots are important too but even here some creativity is welcome. I really want the couple to look at these important photographs and remember the fun, the joy, the detail, the emotion and the spontaneity of their day. And last weekend, on Meera and Ketan’s civil ceremony day in Leicester City, after the formal ceremony and shots, we headed into the city centre and made full use of the superstores, estate agent, coffee shop, a passer-by’s bike, the newspaper stall and lots more to capture some unique and memorable photos of this couple, which tell a story all of their own. Meera and Ketan are a lovely couple and were up for being photographed in some unusual settings as you can see below. And the people of Leicester were more than willing to lend their ‘props’ so that their civil ceremony photography really stands out from the crowd.
