I have been meaning to blog about this wedding that we covered last year for some time. Having covered Vanisha and Pratik’s civil wedding at the Stanhill Court Hotel in Surrey, we knew that their Hindu wedding would be every bit as enjoyable to photograph and film. We made our way to the fabulous Addington Palace – an exclusive wedding venue in Surrey, the wedding venue for their Indian wedding, after take a few shots of Vanisha’s makeup in East Grinstead.
Arriving at Addington Palace, the mandap and the decoration by Wed In Style was all set up. As soon as Vanisha arrived there was a session for family group photographs before the arrival of the groom’s party. Pratik’s friends and family danced to the rhythm of dhol players. Vanisha’s friends and family joined in the dancing as the guests made their way into the venue in a joyful procession.
Pratik was officially welcomed by Vanisha’s mum and then, as per tradition, stepped onto an earthernware pot and crushed it. He made his was to the mandap for the Ganesh Pooja. Vanisha soon made her grand entrance and the Hindu ceremony continued.
The day was filled with colour, excitement and anticipation as well as much happiness and laughter.
Vanisha and Pratik – we wish you both all the happiness and a big thank you to you and your friends/family for allowing us to photograph and film your special days.
