A candid photograph is a photograph that is taken without the subject necessarily knowing about it and hence they are captured unposed. Below is an example of candid wedding photography taken during Minal and Gavin’s Asian wedding at Manor of Grove in Hertfordshire. I saw this little fellow with his Lumix Leica digital camera taking a photograph of the newly wed couple and I took this photograph of him without his knowledge. The image shows him engrossed in taking the photograph with one of his eyes looking thorough the camera’s viewfinder and the other looking at his subject, that’s what I love about this photograph.
As a wedding photographer I keep a lookout for those moments where I can take a candid wedding photograph as these are the ones that really tell a story and bring a smile to people’s faces when they view the images afterwards.
Manor of Grove is one of the most picturesque hotels in Hertfordshire, the beautiful grounds and stylish architecture provide the perfect backdrop for wedding and civil partnership celebrations. As well as offering a choice of stunning banqueting suites, the hotel also has two delightful gazebos situated in the grounds which are licensed for civil ceremonies.
