Richmond is one of the most popular destinations for any London wedding photographer as it has some beautiful historic mansions as well as the magnificent deers in Richmond Park. So, it was a pleasure in covering Catherine and Hitesh’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge, a wonderful Georgian mansion situated in Richmond, on the edge of the park. Pembroke Lodge is a fantastic wedding venue.
Catherine and Hitesh’s wedding was in the Belvedere Room, purposely built to host weddings. The room provides plenty of natural light through windows and a glass ceiling – and I find this ideal to photograph weddings. The Belvedere Room also opens up directly to an outdoor terrace, with breathtaking views across the Thames Valley.
Catherine and her bridal party got ready at the Richmond Hill Hotel. Catherine was incredibly calm and relaxed, and before we knew it was time for the short drive to Pembroke Lodge for the ceremony and wedding reception.
Once at Pembroke Lodge, I met up with Hitesh and his friends and family, as the guests all mingled on the terrace, enjoying the stunning views. Shortly afterwards, the bridesmaids and Catherine made their entrance.
After a short ceremony it was back out on the terrace to make the most of the summer afternoon sunshine. For the evening reception, the Belvedere Room transformed into what could have been a completely different venue – lovely ambient light and the stunning starlit ceiling creating warm and romantic lighting for some very special first dance shots.
As usual, below are some of my favourite images from this beautiful wedding.
