We have had the pleasure of photographing and filming a number of Muslim wedding ceremonies in and around London. They have been beautiful events, with lots of colour, tradition and joy. Unlike Hindu weddings, a Muslim wedding is over a shorter period of time and provides the opportunity to get some great footage in a less hectic environment. A Muslim Wedding Ceremony is referred to as Nikaah. It is a beautiful agreement between the bride and the groom to spend the rest of their lives together happily. The couple sign the Nikahnama separately & that is the formal part of the ceremony completed. We are often also asked to cover the Walima, which is the second part of the Muslim wedding ceremony, and is a further celebration of the marriage.
A typical Muslim marriage is characterised by much color and joviality. Men and women dressed in their traditional outfits gather together to celebrate the wedding with much happiness and enthusiasm.
Prior to the wedding, we will often photograph and film the Mehendi Ceremony which for Muslim couples again differs from those in Hindu weddings.
As always, each couple has different ideas on what is most important for them during their wedding celebrations and we listen to these and work hard to bring these to life through outstanding photographic and film results.
