Wedding Rings – Why do I love this photography?

The wedding ring is an emblem and throughout time has symbolised love, devotion and even an agreement between families. The physical structure of the wedding ring has changed as different civilizations have changed it to look more and more beautiful. However the meaning behind the symbol has stayed the same throughout time and over continents. “I love you” “I wish to be with you forever” and “You are mine.”

This week’s “Why do I love this Photograph” focuses on these most special wedding symbols – the wedding rings. Whether, it’s photographing Indian weddings, English weddings, Nigerian weddings or Somali weddings as I’ve had the privilege of doing over the last few months, in London, South East England and Kent, getting innovative shots of the rings is always on the photo list.
