Colours Photo and Film covered the photography and videography for Shaansa and Deven’s Mauritian wedding over the summer at the beautiful Wokefield Park in Berkshire. With its manicured lawns, gardens, picturesque lake and 250 acres of Royal Berkshire’s finest parkland, The Mansion House at Wokefiled Park has a special air of romance and a magical sense of seclusion.
Shaansa booked us almost a year before for her special day, and since her booking we had to turn down over 30 other couples for the same weekend. I’d had the pleasure of meeting the couple at their pre-wedding shoot and I knew we’d get some really brilliant shots of them on their wedding day, as they are both so natural in front of the camera. Their Mauritian Hindu wedding was a real feast for the eyes. Shaansa and Deven looked brilliant and although the rain couldn’t be held back for an outdoor ceremony, the rituals conducted inside the grand marquee, adorned with Japanese lanterns, were just as captivating. Guests from every continent around the world watched the couple light the havan and carry out the pheras, before Deven applied the sindoor and put the mangalsutra on Shaansa. The day was over all too quickly, but watch out for another write-up and photos from their equally beautiful civil wedding and reception.
