Colours Photo and Film took a break from wedding photography and videography to take photographs of a very special awards evening at the Houses of Parliament this week. The event was organised by the Positive Youth Network (PYN) Haringey at the inaugural PYTHONS project awards evening, to celebrate the work of some truly talented Haringey youngsters who have defied the usual negative stereotypes of young people in the borough and are just so inspirational. From the 9 year old Oxford graduate, to singing stars 4 Real, from fashion label entrepreneur to the successful masters graduate from Cambridge, each and every one of these people make Haringey proud. There were also some awards for the local leaders who lend so much support to getting positive coverage for the hardworking young people of Haringey, a North London Borough.

Absolutely Cupcakes – Four young women from Broadwater Farm who run their own successful cupcake catering business.
Andre Ferreira – Tottenham teenage games developer. awarded silver at the UK World Skills Championships 2013.
Dimitar Dzhunov – Teenage YouTube sensation from Haringey who is also studying four A-levels.
Doccia Apparel – Two young men from Philip Lane who own a fashion company with their own store in Camden.
4Real – Four young men former students of Greig City Academy in Haringey who competed in the X-Factor with their soul band.
George Andronic – George came to England in Year 10 unable to speak English, but worked hard, passed his GCSEs and is now studying at college.
Glenn Owusu – Chosen as Adidas’ Pride of Haringey Olympic ambassador. Runs his own anti-youth-violence project Universal Smiles.
Nick Green and Ed Krish – Developed by 2 local teenagers, the cookbook contains recipes from Haringey’s finest restaurants.
Joshua Beckford – Eight-year-old from Tottenham who was the youngest person to study at Oxford University, aged six. He can speak Japanese, practices medical surgery on a computer simulator and has completed more than 1,000 maths problems.
Joseph and Winnie Simeon – Haringey twins who achieved 16 As at GCSE between them, at Greig City Academy in Hornsey.
Kwame Asideu – Young man from Tottenham who has been building a library in Ghana for an orphanage.
Sean Safo – Athlete in the top 100 world athletics rankings and represents Great Britain.
Shayan Moftizadeh – Tottenham resident, educated at Park View School and Woodhouse College (Sixth Form College), who graduated with a first-class degree from Cambridge University, who then went on to do her Masters degree at Cambridge.
Tanisa Gunesekera – Young woman from Haringey who is one of only 14 people to be awarded a British Museum scholarship. She beat hundreds of others from around the UK to secure the programme at the British Museum.
Zoom Rockman – A 13-year-old who owns his own comic business and has his own strip in The Beano. He began working on The Zoom! No 1 when he was just 8 years old. Since 2009 there has been 8 new issues.
