It seems like ages ago that we covered Madhuri and Yogesh’s Asian wedding. Back in the summer, I did their pre-wedding shoot in London, photographed their registry wedding in Wandsworth Civic Centre and the Hindu wedding at Felbridge Hotel and Spa, in Surrey. This was the second time that we have photographed and filmed Indian weddings at this fabulous wedding venue in Surrey and I’m hopeful it won’t be our last!
It was a fine summer’s morning when we arrived for some bridal prep photography, and at this stage I realised that today was going to be a very special day for Madhuri and Yogesh and their family. A beautiful and serene setting was in place with the wedding mandap and decoration by Wed in Style, and we were honoured to be capturing the images and film for this special day. Yogesh and the groom party arrived dancing in style and were greeted by Madhuri’s family. Following the Ganesh puja, Madhuri made her grand entrance with “wows” from the wedding guests, admiring her beautiful wedding outfit. A really wonderful Hindu wedding ceremony followed conducted by a Gujarati priest. The fun and competitive part of the ceremony was during the games know as “Koda Kodi”, where the couple were blindfolded and had to find the ring in a bowl of rosewater, the best part of any Indian wedding before the final phase of an Hindu wedding, the Vidai.
Before the emotional farewell, we managed to get some lovely couple shots, including one where they felt that they were in Bahamas. We love taking creative photographs using the surroundings to capture images which the bride and groom will treasure forever.
To sum up it was an amazing wedding and Madhuri and Yogesh are a very cool and happy couple, as you will see from this small selection of photographs from their big day. Keep a look out for the blog on their registry wedding ceremony and wedding reception which will be coming soon.
