Nigerian Engagement – London Wedding Photographer

I had the honour to be asked again by a good friend to photograph a Nigerian engagement in Kent. Having covered a Nigerian wedding last year in London, I really enjoy photographing Nigerian engagements and weddings as they are so much fun. The colour, the music, the dancing and the overall pageantry are just amazing!  There is always so much going on, and lots of different things to photograph.

Foloushade and Benji looked stunning and all of their guests had a great time.  The evening celebrations started with the groom’s family saying prayers and then being welcomed by the bride’s family. The bride’s family and friends were in yellow outfits and the groom’s side were in red. On the groom’s entrance there was lots of signing and dancing and the comperes made it  an entertaining evening for all. Things got very emotional when the bride made her entrance.

Once the traditional celebrations were complete the bride was asked to choose a gift brought in by the groom’s family. And no surprises for the gift she chose – the engagement ring which was tied to the bible. Hope you like these photos of the guests, bride and groom’s mums, and the groom.

Dinendra. Your work just gets better and better each year. Half of me is inspired by the excellent captures and the other half tells me maybe it’s time to stand back and let you youngsters take over 🙂 Fantastic work. Nigerian weddings are always so colourful and exhausting at the same time.ReplyCancel
