I was privileged to be invited by Canon, an official imaging partner of the British Fashion Council, to Vodafone London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House in London to photograph some catwalk shows. I managed to get some great shots (below) of the latest spring/summer collections from top designers. Here’s what the the brochure had to say about the designs and themes of the collections:
Flower Power – It’s a spring awakening as Erdem, Jonathan Saunders and Preen showed beautiful blooms on the catwalk. From sixties-inspired prints to oversized motifs and delicate posies, now’s the time to blossom!
Precious Metals – From Antonio Berardi and Balmain to Marni, designers opted for vibrant hues with an iridescent finish. Balance the look with silver separates, or look to slinky satin for a futuristic vibe. Either way, don’t be afraid to sparkle!
Lance Embrace – This delicate detail is the season’s signature overlay. Follow the lead of Christopher Kane, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta and don’t fear the sheer! If you’re looking to add a little texture to your wardrobe, opt for a lace skirt – it’s the key ladylike piece for spring.
Good Sport – The sports luxe trend continues to rule the runway – think exaggerated silhouettes, rah-rah pleats and rounded shoulders from designers such as T by Alexander Wang, Peter Pilotto and Stella McCartney. Game on!
Julien Macdonald showcased his SS14 Designer’s collection as part of a stellar line up.
