Pre wedding photography or engagement photography is really fun and the photo-shoots are a fantastic way for the couple to get to know me and visa versa. For the couple, this may perhaps be the first time they have been in front of a professional wedding photographer’s camera and it serves a great dress rehearsal for their big day – the wedding day! Most importantly, the couple gets some amazing photographs, which they can use for their guest book, canvass display or a signing board.
In preparing for the pre-wedding shoot, the couple often asks about location, and we always say that think about the places that mean something to both of you. We are more than happy to discuss ideas. When Reena and Michael booked us as their wedding photographer and videographer for their wedding later this year in London, they wanted something different for their pre-wedding shoot, away from the parks and landmark locations. They are both keen shoppers, they love cooking, they wanted photos with flamingos and as the timing was around Valentine’s Day, we tried to work that in too. After a little bit of discussion, we agreed to do the pre-wedding shoot at Whole Foods Market in Kensington and on the nearby Roof Tops Gardens.
On the day of the shoot, we started at Whole Foods Market and Reena and Michael got down to serious business of shopping while also having some fun. We even managed to get Reena in the shopping trolley pushed around by Michael, much to the amusement of the other shoppers. We then headed to Roof Tops Gardens where Reena and Michael had a chance to meet some flamingos!
Reena and Michael were relaxed and confident in front of their camera and their fun-loving personalities allowed me to capture some amazing results. As always a picture speaks a thousand words and so I’ll let these photos do the talking!
