Somali Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer

As a London Wedding Photographer, we were highly recommended to cover this Somali wedding at Hilton Kensington Hotel in the heart of London’s West End. I met the bride’s family and was introduced to the extended family members and friends of the bride and groom, so that I had some idea of who was who when photographing them.

For a Somali wedding in the UK, the bride and the groom can choose to wear western clothing, or traditional Somali clothes. This time, the couple chose western attire. The bride wore a beautiful wedding dress with the bridesmaids in blue outfits, which complimented the decoration of the venue. Many of the guests were dressed in beautiful Somalian designs, in the most vibrant colours imaginable. At the reception, the guests were treated to a sumptuous banquet.

Unlike typical Asian weddings that I usually cover, which can be long with many events and activities over several days, Somali Weddings are much shorter and can be covered in a day.

I enjoyed covering this wedding which was of a different culture and we provide wedding photography for all culture.
